About the Programme

This programme is suitable for those aged 50 and above.

Do you enjoy art and learning about the stories behind art pieces? Join us on this guided tour of Directing the Real, an exhibition featuring the works of artist Chua Mia Tee, to hear about the inspirations and experiences that motivated his art. Chua Mia Tee is one of Singapore's leading realist artists, whose works primarily draw attention to the difficult realities of the masses in Singapore from the 1950s to the 1980s. Chua has created many iconic works and was conferred the Cultural Medallion, Singapore’s most prestigious arts award, in 2015 for his contributions to art in Singapore. During the tour, a resource list featuring famous local artists will be shared with all participants.
