His impressive background includes degrees in Engineering and Mass Communications (OCU, USA), an MBA (NUS), and a forthcoming Master of Arts in Songwriting (Berklee College of Music, April 2025). A prolific songwriter and show producer (musicals, concerts, events), Desmond's expertise encompasses vocal coaching, education, social-tech innovation, and creating original music for numerous homegrown musicals, including Emily the Musical, Lim Boon Keng, Peter & Pierre, and Merlion the Musical.

An experienced choral director and vocal coach, he has worked with organisations like NUSS, SGH, TTSH, and Deutsche Bank RecClub. His notable works include Overcome As One (SKM 2020), Lim Boon Keng The Musical (2019), Emily The Musical (2016), and Singapore’s National Day Parade (1997). Holding degrees in Mass Communications, Business, and Engineering, he actively uses performing arts for social impact.
