This is part of the Tell Your Story Series. Stop motion has a long history as the predecessor of moviemaking. The workshop is heavy on hands-on and enables the learners to create stop motion animation with mobile apps as part of storytelling. Tell Your Story with stop motion delivers the following course objectives: understand stop motion animation techniques, create and use stop motion as part of storytelling using mobile apps and apply skills learned in a class project to create a simple video slideshow with stop motion including photographs, sound, and background music.

Trainer's Profile
Cheong Lai Siong
Cheong Lai Siong is an independent IT consultant, coach and facilitator and founder of Orchid Creative Pte Ltd. Leveraging on her 30 years of corporate management experience in the areas of IT and Business in a MNC. She had developed a methodology to help people to reflect, discover and formulate their own transformation agenda, using design thinking concept and digital tools such as photo journal and scrapbook. She conducts and facilitates customised workshops for parents, preschool teachers and the corporate. She is certified competent for ACTA (Advanced Certification for Training and Assessment) by Institute of Adult Learning in Dec 2017. She is currently a PA Trainer and conduct training in People’s Association.
Lee Kowling
Lee Kowling started her career as a designer. She is a known illustrator in the industry and has illustrated many works including, ‘The Beaded Slippers’ by Adeline Foo, ‘I Don’t Want to Dance!’ by Suchen Christine Lim and the ‘Pittodrie Pirates’ Book Series by Lynette Morrison. She has numerous children's books published overseas, with Australians writers for ‘The wombat Stoles My Shoe‘ by Katrina Griffiths and ‘Hello Cyber Grannie‘ by Jane Tyrrell.
Kowling currently holds art workshops and classes for children as well as for adults of all ages. Kowling is a mother of two. Her love for adventures and tavels memories have given her many inspirations for her arts. Kowling was invited to Delhi as a speaker on Seafaring Legends at the Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival and a featured illustrator at the Singapore Writer’s Festival. She devloped and facilitated 2 workshops for an audience of 50 on creating your very own book for Little Lit.

This course brings good exposure to different and interesting ways to create memorable videos, object animation and gifs. Instructors Lai Siong and Kowling are knowledgeable and patient, hence I found it enjoyable and fun!!

You could always hear lots of laughter in this class! I think we had such a fabulous time because we felt safe, discovering, and perhaps for some of us uncovering after a long time, bits of our buried creativity. We felt quite free to express ourselves because Lai Siong and Kowling were extremely encouraging and genuinely learner-centric. Kudos to this very talented but unassuming duo!
The techniques taught in this course are very useful indeed for storytelling in education, entertainment, personal memories ... there are simply many possibilities waiting to be discovered!

Friendly and approachable teachers - both Lai Siong and Kowling. They work in unity and I can see their friendship between them are deep.
With the friendly environment, I was also able to made new friends.
This course is good, there is much to learn and put into practice.
