The MBSR 9-session course, developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Stress Reduction Clinic in 1979, imparts skills training in mindfulness, stress physiology and cognitive awareness. Participants learn to develop and draw on their inner resources for greater well-being.

Angie Chew is the Principal Mindfulness Trainer of Brahm Centre, a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction trainer (University of Massachusetts Medical School) & a certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Course trainer (Oxford University Mindfulness Centre). In addition, Angie is also a certified Dot-B and Paws-B mindfulness trainer (Mindfulness in Schools Project, UK). She is also an Adj. A/Prof at the National University of Singapore.
