Heritage in Stitches: Hand Sewn Qipao Workshop

Join us for an engaging workshop where you will learn the traditional techniques of crafting a casual, modern Qipao. This hands-on experience will guide you through drafting a pattern directly onto your chosen fabric, using easy-to-handle materials like 100% cotton or cotton blends. Participants will cut and hand-sew their Qipao, gaining valuable skills in garment construction while appreciating this iconic Chinese dress.

Mr Wang Wei Chuan is currently a freelance Patternmaker with extensive experience in the global apparel industry. He began his career in Tokyo as a pattern maker and designer specializing in outerwear and sportswear. Passionate about making clothes, Wangwei believes that a deep understanding of garment construction and technical expertise know how will help one in making good decisions in garment construction.
