Batik Painting Course

Batik is an ancient art form from which images and designs on the fabric are created using wax. This introductory course will expose students to basic non-traditional batik techniques, as well as famous local batik artists such as Sarkasi Said and Jaafar Latiff. Participants will use vibrant batik dyes and cold wax outliners to design and paint their own batik paintings.

Lau Sheow Tong holds a Master in Fine Arts LaSalle College, a Post-graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor in Arts from NUS. 

Tan Ching Ching

Ms Tan Ching Ching holds a specialist diploma in Arts Education from National Institution of Education, and a certificate in Western Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She conducted workshops using watercolour and received positive feedback on her classes. Creative and full of new ideas, attending her classes is always enjoyable and engaging. She also conducts other workshops such as Batik Painting, glass painting and pottery
