This course explores macro typography as an image for visual literacy and communication. It is recommended for anyone keen to investigate and apply creative interpretations of visual semantics using type. A keen sense of observation and a meticulous attitude is required to use type as a fundamental design component.

Winnie Tan
Winnie Tan graduated from Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with a master’s degree in typography. She was the Programme Leader of Diploma of Advertising and Graphic Design at NAFA from 2015 to 2021 and received accolades from Type Directors Club, Slanted (Germany) and Creative Circle Interactive Media Awards Singapore. Winnie is now with the Centre for Lifelong Education, focusing on strengthening industry partnerships with art communities.
