Studio Lighting 1 - Portrait Photography

Participants will learn to use a light diffuser to take artistic portraits. The course includes both theory and practical sessions to use 1,2,3 light settings. Topics include exposure methods, the differences between hard light and soft light, indoor lighting techniques, the effect of one and more lights, creative elements of portrait photography, colour temperature and white balance, composition, lighting, tone, artistic conception, composition, indoor lighting techniques, outdoor shooting practice and more. Learners will master the knowledge and skills of indoor lighting for portraits and help friends or relatives to take natural portrait photos to share with relatives and friends!

Lau Eng Seng
Mr Lau is a photographer and artist graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Nanyang Technology University. Much of his work concentrate on the contemporaneity with interest in anthropology, sociology and identity, driven by research-based methodologies. His art practice is presented through various forms. He held exhibitions locally and internationally. He has been awarded the NTU ADM Sustainability Award (Gold) and was short listed for the NTU Global Digital Art Prize 2019.Reviews on Course
