Mindful Composting is a course designed to cultivate a positive mindset shift through learning the skills of turning food waste into compost combined with a mindfulness practice. Participants will be introduced to organic and easy composting techniques using food waste in the kitchen and turning it into valuable soil enhancements for growing plants. Participants will gain better self-awareness, improved mental well-being, a positive mindset shift and improved farming skills.

Trainer's Profile

Michell Wong

Ms Michell Sheya Wong is Singapore’s current reigning champion for public speaking. She is Singapore’s 2019 champion for public speaking and is a linguist fluent in English, Mandarin and various dialects. Michell is well-recognised as an SIP Champion - having collaborated with SIP to deliver many mindfulness-based programs to a diverse audience ranging from corporates, government agencies, community partners and schools. She has over 10 years of experience in coaching industry professionals and students to speak more powerfully, write more lucidly and lead more successfully. Having been a practitioner of meditation for 10 years, Michell hopes to share her experiences so we can all see that anyone can benefit from mindfulness meditation and that we can practice mindfulness anytime, anywhere, even in the midst of our daily grind.

William Chiang

Mr. William Chiang is the resident lead of Social Innovation Park’s SEED (Social Entrepreneurship and Eco-Park Development) farming and horticultural community, which has over 1000 sqm of land dedicated to building the community. Over the last 5 years, he has helped design and create the community from bare land. He is also instrumental in facilitating the nature-led flagship programme “L.E.A.D with Nature” at SIP Academy. He started growing edibles at home over 10 years ago, during which an urban farming movement began sweeping across the world. He experimented with both indoor and outdoor growing techniques, and gradually developed his knowledge and green fingers.
