This course introduces TCM as a method of enhancing health, preventing illness, and treating diseases using a holistic approach. Participants learn the basic concepts of TCM as well as the principles of health promotion and therapy. Western doctors and biomedical scientists will find the course useful for getting better acquainted with the scientific nature and methods of TCM. The course should help participants apply TCM knowledge to their participation in the Healthier SG program.

Trainer's Profile
Prof Hong Hai
Prof Hong Hai is an Adjunct Professor at NTU and Chairman of the Renhai Centre Ltd. He had been on the academic committee of the TCM Practitioners Board. He has been teaching TCM courses in various institutes and also published four books on TCM.
Karen Wee
Karen Wee (BSc, BMed) is a registered TCM physician at the Renhai Clinic since 2012. Her primary clinical concentration is on women and children health, and fertility issues. She has taught TCM courses in English at SUSS, Renhai, and the Confucius Institute since 2012 and had co-authored the book 'Chinese Medicine for Health: Holistic Healing, Inner Harmony and Herbal Recipes'. She was a past President of NTU’s Chinese Medicine Alumni Association.
Soh Shan Bin
Ms Soh Shan Bin (BSc, BMED, MMed) has been practising as a TCM Physician in the Renhai clinic from 2016 till now. She has many experiences teaching TCM courses in English at UniSIM, Renhai, and the Confucius Institute. After graduating with degrees in biomedical science from NTU and in TCM from BUCM in 2010, Shan Bin trained at the Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine with a concentration on cardiovascular diseases for a Master’s degree. She had co-authored the book 'Chinese Medicine for Health: Holistic Healing, Inner Harmony and Herbal Recipes'.
