What is the Community Dabao?
The Community Dabao is a programme run by REACH Senior Service at 2 centres in Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak, with a modified version called Kopi Time at Jalan Membina.
The chief aim of the Community Dabao programme is to empower, enable and encourage seniors to stay engaged and contribute meaningfully to society through healthy eating and good company in a positive environment.
How does it work?
Community Dabao is conducted at 2 Senior Centres under REACH Senior Service, with a third centre running a modified version called Kopi Time. This programme is run twice a month by volunteers.
While waiting for the food to be ready, beneficiaries are invited to attend health and wellness talks or engage in enrichment activities through crafts and educational activities.
Cooked with love by the volunteers, the hot delicious lunch is ready for collection when the activity is done.
The Community Dabao and Kopi Time are run on a donate-as-you-wish model, supported by the Silver Volunteer Fund.
