30-31 MARCH 2008
Looking for Seniors to form a Drama Group
- Are you above 50?
- Have some time to spare?
- Need a creative outlet?
Then be part of a ground-breaking project – a Theatre Company for Seniors!
Facilitated by The Necessary Stage, with support from the Council for Third Age, this programme will train senior members of the community in drama
performance and the administration of a theatre company.
Participants will learn from and enjoy workshops in various aspects of theatre,
including acting, playwriting and directing, as well as administration and technical
work. Led by professional theatre facilitators, participants will acquire new skills
through the rehearsal process, and present their works in professional theatre
spaces.
Under the guidance of the administrative team at The Necessary Stage, members
will also be taught the day to day operation of a professional drama company, and
be equipped with the fundamental skills to form an independent drama group for
seniors.
Workshops will be conducted on Monday evenings, beginning April 2008.
